about Asadabad

Asadabad, formerly known as Adrapana, is a city in Hamedan Province, located in western Iran. The region comprises three cities: Asadabad, Ajin, and Paliz, with Asadabad serving as the administrative center. It covers an area of approximately 1,195 square kilometers and enjoys a moderate climate. According to the latest census, the population of Asadabad is around 107,006 residents. The local languages include Farsi, Turkish, Kurdish, and Lori. Asadabad is home to over 151 historical and cultural monuments, with 58 of these recognized as national heritage sites in Iran. Some of these monuments date back to the 5th and 6th millennia B.C. The first hospital in Asadabad, Amir al-Momenin Hospital, was established in 1988 but closed in 2017 due to structural issues. Currently, Ghaem Hospital, with a capacity of 128 beds, operates and serves the community, having opened its doors in 2008.

About Asadabad School of Medical Sciences

Asadabad School of Medical Sciences and Health Services has been offering five educational departments—Nursing, Public Health, Medical Emergency, Midwifery, and Basic Sciences—since its establishment in 2013. It became an independent institution, separating from Hamadan University of Medical Sciences, in 2016.  Overall, the school has graduated 734 students across various fields, and enrolls 321 students. There are 20 faculty members specializing in areas such as Nursing, Health Education and Promotion, Epidemiology, Islamic Teachings, Nutritional Science and Diet Therapy, Midwifery and Reproductive Health, Medical Library and Information Science, Molecular Medicine, Anatomical Science, and Biostatistics.
